Warhammer miniature painting is a popular hobby amongst both experienced and novice hobbyists. The Seraphon army, in particular, has become a popular choice for many miniature wargamers. This army is part of the Age of Sigmar world, which is a fantasy-based game with complex rules. The miniatures are intricately detailed and come in various sizes, allowing for limitless creativity when it comes to painting them. Painting these miniatures can be a fantastic experience as the results can look amazing and you get to express your own style through the artwork. With a variety of paints, brushes and tools available, painting the any new army can be an enjoyable activity with great results.
Painting Seraphon warriors for the Warhammer Age of Sigmar game is an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Our recent commission included: Seraphon Skinks, Saurus Knights, Saurus Warriors, Saurus Astrolith Bearer and Saurus Oldblood On Carnosaur. No matter if you are a newbie or an experienced painter, if you want to know how to paint these models, keep reading!
To begin, gather all the pieces of your lizardmen army and assemble them according to the instructions. Once they are completed, it’s time to start painting! Before beginning, ensure that you have all the necessary supplies such as Citadel paints, brushes, and other hobby tools (all available to purchase at Games Workshop site). First, apply a basecoat to each model with a single color from your paint range. Although the saurus skin is scaled, it is pretty easy to basecoat. Then mix different colors together to create depth in each model before adding details like eyes or symbols with a fine tip brush. To create more of different textures on your Skinks, you can try out some techniques like drybrush on their skin or shading by layering darker Citadel Contrast paints. Standard lizard colour scheme includes basic colours like: blue, yellow, orange, red, green, white and black (also some golden and bronze washes). Finally, add basing material to the bases of each model to give them texture and interest. We went with jungle theme with some stone bits for our commission, but you can use many different options such as sand. Tere are lots of different forms of baslet your fantasy run wild. With patience and practice, you will soon be able to paint a ready – to – battle army in no time at all, shining bright on the gaming table! All it takes is dedication to make you progress as fast as you can! If you still haven’t got any idea of how you would like your models painted, we hope that you’ll find some inspiration in the pictures below! Here are some of our favourites:
No matter if you are a fan of Warhammer 40k, Age of Sigmar or Fantasy lore – you can’t deny that these ethereal, scaly race of serpents are cool! The Seraphon units are a powerful force that has been around for many years and is an apparent well structured army. They are incredibly well adapted to the battlefield, capable of both offence and defence. When it comes to starting a collection of lizardmen models, it’s easy to start with the basic starter set and grow from there. We really love boxes such as Start Collecting! Seraphon or Start Collecting! Skinks, but there are plenty of sets to explore and mix several different armies together. There are plenty of units available to create a variety of armies, so choosing the right ones can be difficult but also rewarding. The strength of the Seraphon on the battlefield lies in their ability to adapt quickly and use their natural terrain advantage when needed. They have strong magic and some powerful beasts, making them perfect for dealing with any enemy forces that come their way. All in all, the Seraphon make for a great army and one that will be sure to bring you plenty of success on the battlefield.
