This project presents a striking squad of painted Striking Scorpions from the Aeldari faction of Warhammer 40,000. These iconic Aspect Warriors are known for their stealth tactics, sudden ambushes, and devastating melee combat. The goal of this commission painting project was to create a visually powerful unit that reflects the deadly elegance of the Aeldari while maintaining a clean, cohesive tabletop-ready appearance. Each miniature was painted with precision and attention to detail so the squad reads as a unified battlefield force while still allowing the individual character of each model to stand out.
Emerald Armor and Signature Shrine Colors
The armor across the entire squad features a deep emerald green color scheme inspired by the traditional look of the Striking Scorpion shrine. Layered highlights were applied to the armor panels to give the surfaces depth and clarity while preserving the darker stealth-oriented aesthetic associated with these warriors. Purple helmet crests provide a strong secondary accent color, adding contrast and visual richness without overpowering the main armor tones. This combination of green and purple creates a distinctive appearance that immediately identifies the unit on the tabletop.
Powered Chainswords and Combat Detail
Several warriors in the squad carry chainswords enhanced with a bright yellow energy edge. This effect was painted to represent energized weapon technology commonly used by the Aeldari. The vibrant yellow tones contrast sharply with the darker armor colors, making the weapons one of the most eye-catching elements of the miniatures. The glow effect helps emphasize the close-combat nature of the Striking Scorpions and visually reinforces their role as aggressive assault troops.
Veteran Exarch Leadership
Leading the squad is the Exarch, a warrior who has dedicated his entire life to mastering the Path of the Scorpion. In the Warhammer 40,000 setting, Exarchs are ancient veterans who embody the combat philosophy of their Aspect shrine. Their traditions trace back to Karandras, the legendary Phoenix Lord who founded the Striking Scorpion order. The Exarch in this squad is subtly distinguished through additional details and weapon configuration while remaining visually consistent with the rest of the unit.
