Supreme Patriarch Commission Painting

This custom painted Balthasar Gelt on Pegasus represents one of the most iconic heroes of the Empire in Warhammer: The Old World.
As a professional miniature painting studio, we focused on capturing the prestige of the Supreme Patriarch through a rich and regal gold armor paint scheme.
The shimmering metallic mask and torso are shaded with deep sepia tones to provide realistic depth, while the crimson robes offer a bold, warm contrast that defines the character's status.
Every detail of this painted Warhammer model, from the blue arcane orb on the staff to the flowing yellow parchment, has been executed to ensure a striking appearance as a centerpiece for any commission painted army.
Professional Details on the Pegasus and Arcane Features
The majestic Pegasus mount has been painted with a clean, crisp white finish, a challenging color that our miniature painting studio handled with smooth layering and subtle grey shading in the recesses.
This creates a natural, ethereal look for the winged beast, allowing the custom painted Balthasar Gelt to remain the focal point.
We applied precise edge highlights to the feathers and the horse's mane to add texture and movement to the sculpt.
The golden staff, a symbol of Gelt's mastery over the Lore of Metal, features polished gold filigree and a vibrant blue gemstone, providing a cool-toned counterpoint to the overall warm custom paint scheme of the rider.
Towering Scenic Basing for Tabletop Impact
One of the most unique aspects of this commission painting project is the custom scenic basing.
We opted for a dramatic, vertical rock formation that elevates the Pegasus, giving the model an imposing presence on the battlefield.
The dark grey, dry-brushed stone is accented with tufts of green static grass, providing a grounded and realistic foundation that contrasts perfectly with the bright whites and golds of the painted miniature.
This type of high-contrast basing is essential for painted Warhammer models intended for display or competitive play, ensuring the character’s silhouette is unmistakable and heroic from across the gaming table.
