This project showcases a unit of custom painted Vanari Bladelords miniatures from Warhammer Age of Sigmar, completed as part of a professional commission painting project. These elegant Lumineth Realm-lords warriors are known for their refined armor, flowing cloth, and distinctive banners, making them ideal models for a detailed and expressive custom paint scheme.
The goal of this project was to create a balanced and visually striking army unit while maintaining a clean and readable appearance suitable for both tabletop gaming and high-resolution miniature photography. Careful edge highlighting, smooth color transitions, and controlled shading were used to emphasize the refined armor panels and elegant weapons of the Vanari Bladelords models.
Dark, Gritty Color Scheme
For this commission, the Empire Flagellants miniatures were painted using a muted and gritty palette that reflects their desperate and fanatical nature. Deep blue cloth contrasts with worn leather, pale skin tones, and weathered metal weapons.
Careful shading and highlights were applied to bring out the texture of the cloth, the rough surfaces of the weapons, and the expressive faces of the models. These details help the painted Flagellants unit remain visually clear and dynamic from every viewing angle on the tabletop.
Characterful Details and Dynamic Poses
One of the most striking aspects of these Warhammer Age of Sigmar Flagellants is the variety of poses and weapons. Flails, chains, banners, and improvised weapons create a chaotic and energetic unit that feels alive when displayed together.
