Commission Painted Hernkyn Pioneers – Leagues of Votann Custom Scheme
30 March 2026Our miniature painting studio recently completed this unit of Vanari Auralan Wardens for a Warhammer Age of Sigmar collection. Moving away from the standard white and blue, we utilized a vibrant teal and polished silver custom paint scheme. This combination maintains the ethereal, high-elf aesthetic of the Lumineth while providing a unique visual identity on the tabletop.
Techniques for Crisp White Armor and Teal Fabric
Achieving a clean finish on white armor is a hallmark of a professional miniature painting service. We used a light grey basecoat, built up to a pure white with thin, controlled layers to avoid chalkiness. For the teal robes, we employed deep recess shading followed by sharp edge highlights to define the movement of the fabric, ensuring each model in the unit looks cohesive and striking.
Metallic Detail and Sun-Iconography
The Lumineth Realm-lords are known for their ornate equipment. These painted miniatures feature gleaming silver pikes and gold sun-burst emblems. We used high-quality metallic paints with a targeted wash to bring out the intricate details on the shields and helmet crests. The spearheads were finished with a bright silver highlight to catch the light, emphasizing the "Auralan" martial discipline.
