Dark Elf Blood Bowl Team Commission Painted (Greebo Games)

Classic Scheme Vanari Auralan Wardens – Lumineth Realm-lords
17 March 2026In this commission painting project for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, the primary challenge was achieving seamless transitions between disparate material types. For the Soulsnare Shackles, we utilized a wet-blending technique to transition from a weathered metallic iron to an ethereal teal. By maintaining a wet edge on the palette, we successfully integrated these two tones without visible brush strokes, a standard requirement for our miniature painting studio.
Volumetric Shading and OSL on the Purple Sun of Shyish
The Purple Sun of Shyish served as an exercise in high-contrast volumetric shading. To simulate an internal magical core, we inverted traditional highlighting: the deepest recesses contain the brightest saturated purples, while the outer spikes transition into darker, desaturated tones. This custom paint scheme was further enhanced with Object Source Lighting (OSL), projecting a violet tint onto the surrounding stone base to increase the model's environmental presence.
Simulating Organic vs. Ethereal Surfaces
For the Emerald Lifeswarm, the technical focus shifted to organic saturation. We used high-pigment greens with a yellow-white final highlight to simulate vitality. In contrast, the spectral smoke on other painted miniatures in the set was achieved through thin glazes of aethermatic-style paints over a high-value zenithal prime, allowing the underlying light to provide the necessary luminosity.

Professional High-Fidelity Painting Service
Our studio utilizes a combination of advanced airbrushing for large-scale gradients and fine-detail brushwork for edge-lining and runes. For projects like Malign Sorcery, we prioritize color theory—balancing warm magical glows against cold, desaturated bases—to produce a gallery-quality result that remains readable on the gaming table.
