Painted Tempestus Aquilons Kill Team – Warhammer 40K Commission Painting
13 May 2026The Dark Angels miniature range embodies the First Legion's knightly aesthetic and secretive nature. The centrepiece is the recently returned Primarch Lion El'Jonson, supported by Chapter heroes like Azrael and the elite Deathwing Terminators in bone-white armour. The Ravenwing provide fast attack on black bikes, hunting prey for the Deathwing to capture. Every model, from hooded warriors to sword-and-key iconography, reflects the Chapter's ten-thousand-year obsession with hunting the Fallen and seeking redemption.

Dark Angels Commission Painting – Horus Heresy Style Warhammer 40,000 Army
This Dark Angels Warhammer 40,000 commission project showcases a cohesive army painted in a Horus Heresy–inspired armour style and unified through custom made lava bases. The overall palette favors deep, desaturated greens instead of bright modern tones, giving the force a darker, more knightly character while maintaining strong tabletop readability.
The Deathwing Terminators are painted in warm, layered bone tones with controlled recess shading and balanced metallic details, creating a strong contrast against the glowing terrain. The Apothecary stands out in clean white armour shaded with soft greys, maintaining clarity while still matching the army’s overall tone.
Across the entire force, the handcrafted lava bases feature cracked volcanic textures and molten gradients that transition from bright yellow to deep orange and red. The glow effects are carefully controlled to enhance realism without overpowering the armour. The result is a unified Dark Angels army that blends Horus Heresy aesthetics with Warhammer 40,000 presence, delivered as a premium commission painting project focused on cohesion, contrast, and finish quality.

Fire and Shadow: Lion El'Joson on a Volcanic Base with Reflected Glow
Lion El’Jonson serves as the visual centerpiece, finished in rich, muted green armour with restrained edge highlights and aged gold trim. His red cloak is smoothly shaded for depth, and the flame-blended power sword mirrors the glow of the volcanic base beneath him. Subtle object source lighting from the lava reflects onto the lower portions of the model, integrating him naturally into the environment.
